Kevin Miller


Kevin Miller is a Deputy Director at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation with responsibilities for the nutrition data and product R&D investments. The Foundation's data investments are designed to generate nutrition intake and nutritional status information regarding populations in priority regions. The data collected help to inform R&D investments to improve the bioavailability and stability of micronutrients in foods to achieve scale and impact. Previously, Kevin worked in the food industry as a nutrition scientist to help create opportunities and ensure products comply with external and internal nutrition regulations and policies. Kevin also worked as a scientist in healthcare nutrition studying various nutrition interventions for improved health outcomes including cancer cachexia and sarcopenia of ageing. Kevin completed his Bachelors in animal science, Masters in nutritional physiology studying endocrine function and growth, and his Ph.D. from North Dakota in collaboration with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) - Agricultural Research Service studying bioavailability and interactions between trace minerals.
