Anneke Prins
Dr Anneke Prins graduated from the University of Pretoria (South Africa) with a PhD in molecular plant physiology where she studied the role of cysteine proteases and their inhibitors in abiotic stress. She currently works as a plant biochemist at Rothamsted Research (UK) where she studies the nutritional components of wheat grain with a particular focus on dietary fibre. She has a further interest in genomic analysis of wheat varieties to identify lines with high nitrogen use efficiency. Her most recent publications focus on the amount of beta glucan in wheat flour fractions as well as reviewing genetic approaches to increase this dietary fibre in wheat for the improvement of human nutrition.
